Last Night

Thank you so much for those of you who were able to attend last evening.  As I said, I was so elated to see the number of families who came and watching students lead their parents through their McClure experience.  There was so much connection happening in our community last night, and that has definitely been missed. Because this is the first time we have had this format for Curriculum Night, I am attaching a survey for your voice and feedback. It should not take longer than three minutes.  We know the first time we try something, we can always make it better with the input of our community; or…if your experience was great, let us know that, too!  Thank you in advance for participating in this short survey.

Prayer Room

McClure has set up a room where students can go to pray during the school day. If you would like your child to have access to this room for prayer, email me (Principal Conner) so your child can be added to the permission list. Please include your child’s name and the approximate time(s) of day when they would use the space. School staff will then issue a pass for your student and show them where to use the prayer room.

Measures of Academic Progress (MAP

All middle schools in the school district will administer the (MAP) Growth assessment for math during the first two weeks in October. The purpose of this adaptive assessment is to help teachers target the individual needs of students in math. MAP data gives teachers and students more information about growth over time and identifies areas for growth and opportunities for students to develop authentic goals. McClure will be administering the MAP during math classes on Monday and Tuesday of next week. Please make sure your student comes to school with their laptop charged and that they have a book to read in case they finish early. If you have questions, please contact your Math Department Lead, Laura Chang. llchang@seattleschools.org
