Family Newsletter 12/06/24

Hello Maverick Nation!

Thank you for your participation in our Student Family conferences last week. Over 70% of our
families participated in the conferences and the overall feedback was positive. We do hear
feedback to have more contact time with teachers and are developing strategies to address that
within the limitations of middle school conferences schedules. Families are also welcome to
connect with teachers to set up meetings to get more feedback about their students.

• Latino Club Event – December 18 th ; 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm
• McClure Holiday Music Program – December 19th , 7:00 – 8:00 pm
• ASB Spirit Week – December 16th – 20th
• ASB Spirit Assembly – December 20th

Gingerbread Houses
Today our 6th graders participated in the annual Gingerbread House event. It is a team building
activity but also – SO FUN!! Staff will be judging the houses on 1) Most Original, 2) Most
Candy Showing and 3) Best in Show… See some of the final projects here:

Sports Update
Basketball tryouts start next week. If you missed the signups and are still interested, please contact Ms. Tocci our Athletic Director at brtocci@seattleschools.org.

PTSA Gift Card Drive
From the PTSA: As we celebrate the joy of giving this holiday season, we invite you to lend your
support to some of our families who need assistance. Your generous donation of a gift card would make a meaningful impact. If you can contribute, please sign up and drop off the gift cards at the front office by Monday, December 16. Thank you for your kindness and support. Happy Holidays!

Yearbooks
Don’t delay! Order Your Yearbook Today! The cost of the yearbook is $35. Final count for yearbook
orders will be submitted in January. We will have a limited supply of yearbooks to sell in the spring on a first come first serve basis. If you need financial assistance, reach out to the counselors, Ms. Collings, or Ms. Pillers, or our social worker, Ms. Jungbluth. Order Yearbooks
