McClure strives to provide an atmosphere for student athletes in which they can learn, develop skills, and demonstrate sportsmanship in a variety of sports programs after school.

    Key Information

    • Students can only play one sport per season.
    • There is no fee to participate in sports at the middle school level.
    • All practices are held after school, typically twice per week from 3:25-5:10pm here at McClure.  Specific practice schedules vary from sport to sport and will be determined by the coaches.
    • Games are played on Saturdays, typically in the morning or early afternoon.  Game schedules will be given out at practice as soon as they are available.
    • Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from practices and games.  However, there are buses available for transportation after practice.  Please sign-up with Doug Berndt, the CLC Director: daberndt@seattleschools.org, 206-252-1837
    • There are no tryouts for middle school sports.  All students that want to play will get to participate.  We do hold “tryouts” to determine each player’s appropriate team (i.e. JV or varsity), but there are no cuts.
    • All students must be in good standing as far as behavior and maintain a 2.0 average or higher to play.  Student's grades will be monitored through Schoology.  For more information regarding the grade policy refer to the Student 2.0 Grade Point Policy.
