  • edX High School Initiative courses will better prepare high school students for college and offer learners of all ages an introduction to new areas of study and disciplines. Students can use the courses to prepare for college and the AP exams and to supplement AP coursework. Teachers can also use the new high school course materials to augment their classroom curriculum. Covering subject areas ranging from mathematics to science, English and history, the edX high school initiative will provide students around the world who don’t have access to AP courses the opportunity to pursue challenging, advanced coursework.

  • Family Literacy, Math, and Science ToolKits have been developed by Seattle Public Schools to assist families in helping with their children’s learning at home and at school. These books are full of activities that you can do with your children in the summer and throughout the school year, specific to each child's grade and developmental level.

  • Graphite.org is a free service from non-profit Common Sense Media designed to help pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade educators discover, use, and share the best apps, games, websites, and digital curricula for their students by providing unbiased, rigorous ratings and practical insights from our active community of teachers.

  • IXL Math and English motivates students through interactive games and exercises while keeping teachers and parents informed and involved. With more than 3,000 skills spanning pre-school through high school, IXL offers a dynamic and enjoyable environment suitable for any learning style.

  • Khan Academy is a not-for-profit with the goal of changing education for the better by providing a free world-class education for anyone anywhere. All of the site's resources are available to anyone. It doesn't matter if you are a student, teacher, home-schooler, principal, adult returning to the classroom after 20 years, or a friendly alien just trying to get a leg up in earthly biology. Khan Academy's materials and resources are available to you completely free of charge.

  • Math is Fun offers mathematics in an enjoyable and easy-to-learn manner, because we believe that mathematics is fun. The site aims to cover the full Kindergarten to Year 12 curriculum. Quality is important to us. Mathematics Teachers, Mathematicians and many others work on this site. Typically each page is reviewed by at least three qualified people, plus millions of people view the site and they tell us if they don't agree!

  • Overdrive ebooks & audiobooks is an app that allows you download e-books and audiobooks free of charge from your local public library.

  • Purple Math offers algebra lessons written with the student in mind. These lessons emphasize the practicalities rather than the technicalities, demonstrating dependable techniques, warning of likely "trick" questions, and pointing out common mistakes. The lessons are cross-referenced to help you find related material, and a "Search free lessons" link is provided above the article title on every page to help you find what you're looking for.

  • SPS On-line Textbooks are now available for many subjects.

  • Summer Skills books are three different series of review books (math, language arts and foreign language) for students from pre-k through high school. We also offer a Study Skills Review book for grades 7 - high school. Each grade level book helps students maintain their academic skills over the summer months. Since their introduction over 23 years ago, our books have benefited millions of students in over 15,000 schools nationwide.

  • TenMarks Education powers a new generation of math learners. When students work on TenMarks, they have access to hints and video lessons on EVERY problem, so if they can't recall something, or didn't quite get the topic when it was covered in class, they can quickly review the content, and move forward. Immediate support improves motivation and builds confidence, and our data shows that it does wonders for student outcomes.

  • Timberdoodle offers unique and innovative homeschooling items that are fun for kids and parents. Our special emphasis is engineering, hands-on and thinking-skills products that kids love. Our Curriculum Kits contain our favorites for each grade level, but we love to help families cherry-pick what works best for their children.

  • UW Center for Game Science focuses on solving hard problems facing humanity today in a game based environment. Our focus is on scientific discovery games, games that discover optimal learning pathways for STEM education, cognitive skill training games, games that promote human creativity, games that explore collective over individual intelligence, and many more.
